Cardano founder, Charles Hoskinson, has once again reasserted his opinion on a potential partnership between XRP and Cardano’s ADA. His recent comment after a member of the XRP community dug up past remarks that the Cardano founder had made on this same subject.
Why ADA Will Not Work With XRP
In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) platform, Hoskinson explained that the reason ADA will not partner with XRP is because of the “two years of daily harassment” by the XRP community. He also highlighted the “lack of technical overlap” between both tokens and the “different product market fit” as other reasons why a partnership is unlikely.
The Cardano founder mentioned that Ripple (possibly alluding to XRP) was “built for a different purpose.” This is unlike Cardano, Tezoz, Ethereum, Polkadot, and Algorand, which are solving similar problems according to him. Hoskinson seemed to conclude that ADA and XRP had no business together as the “connection of the tech makes no sense.”
Meanwhile, Hoskinson wasn’t done talking about the harassment which he had earlier mentioned. He doesn’t foresee any partnership, given his claims about the XRP community’s “constant personal attacks, harassment, and utter inability to have a conversation.”
Hoskinson had stated back in 2022 that XRP provides no “partnership or technical value.” He also went as far as saying that the XRP community was “toxic and petty.” These comments formed the basis for his most recent statement as crypto researcher ABS of the 3T Warrior revived the ghosts of the past.
He asked in an X post if the Cardano founder still stood by these “bold proclamations about XRP’s value,” to which Hoskinson responded in the affirmative. ABS further demanded an explanation as to why Hoskinson had drawn up such a conclusion. That was what led the Cardano founder to elaborate on his stance.

ETH Gate Still In the Mix For Cardano Founder
Talks about ETH Gate also resurfaced following Hoskinson’s recent comment. Another member of the XRP community quizzed the Cardano founder on what he meant by “daily harassment,” considering that he had allegedly branded the XRP community as “conspiracy theorists” in relation to the ETH rumors.
In response, Hoskinson stated that he stood by his remarks about the conspiracy theory since there was no evidence that Ethereum’s co-founder Joe Lubin bribed the SEC to go after Ripple. However, he also mentioned that that wasn’t the bone of contention here.
From his comments, the Cardano founder seemed to have no ill intent towards XRP and was simply explaining why ADA and XRP cannot work together. He is also of the opinion that many in the XRP community will once again misinterpret his comments and possibly conflate them with the ‘free pass’ discussion.
